Zeeland, Michigan, like its close neighbor Holland, was originally settled by Dutch emigrants. The town is located 5 miles east of the city of Holland along West Michigan’s lower peninsula making for easy access to the Lake Michigan beaches at Holland State Park and Tunnel Park. Grand Rapids is only 25 miles away allowing residents a quick drive to large city attractions.
The motto of Zeeland is Feel the Zeel! This motto is lived out by the very active and accessible downtown. The Splash Pad Park at the corner of Main and Elms allows children to run through a variety of water sprinklers to beat the heat, be involved in the downtown area, and just have fun. The city regularly hosts area activities including bike and foot races, concert series, artist collectives, and sidewalk sales. Zeeland has many excellent restaurants like Public and The Elbo Room and is the home of a local brewery, Tripel Root.
The Zeeland area is a superb place to work, live, and raise a family with lucrative businesses, well-maintained houses, and excellent local schools.
